Abstract

This article analyzes the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on Brazilian education, focusing on Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT). Based on a qualitative literature review, it investigates how ERT influenced pedagogical practices, teachers’ work, and educational public policies. The study was guided by four thematic axes: digital inequality, precarization of teaching work, pedagogical mediation through digital technologies, and the lack of coordinated public policies. Findings indicate that, although ERT intensified inequalities and structural weaknesses, it also led to innovative adaptations and redefinitions of teaching practices. The results highlight the urgent need for more equitable educational policies, continuous teacher training, and professional recognition, emphasizing the central role of human relationships in education.
