Experience Report: Extracurricular Experiences in Personal and Professional Development in Higher Education

Abstract

This article has a qualitative approach and aims to present an account of my experiences as a student in higher education through two extracurricular activities. These activities occurred at different points in my academic and professional journey in the field of Psychology. The first experience took place during my undergraduate studies, in an extension project conceived by the Pro-Rectorate of Extension (PROEX). The second experience was in the Professional and Technological Education (EPT) program for graduates at a Federal Institute, under the Institutional Program for Scientific Initiation Scholarships (PIBIC). Consequently, I believe that, beyond academic learning, these activities contributed to my professional development by allowing me to engage in critical and autonomous reflection about my academic trajectory, as well as to question future challenges related to the roles of researcher, job market, and academic/professional career.
