Abstract

Abstract: The creative learning pedagogical approach has been widespread, especially in recent years, as it allows the student to perceive the world in which he is inserted in a different way, in addition to promoting the development of interpersonal, digital, and technological skills, encouraging the student protagonism in the context of Education 4.0. This paper describes the research done during an experience, carried out in the form of professional development for teachers, adopting the creative learning pedagogical approach, through the creation of an automata. The training focused on using maker culture within the classroom; encourage creativity by creating an automaton; and to encourage teachers to reflect on the importance of approaching topics that promote students' critical and creative thinking. The research was carried out in order to answer the following question: How to carry out a professional development for teachers of basic education, using the creative learning pedagogical approach and the automata pedagogical resource? The methodology included bibliographic research and a case study, conducted in the teacher training activity, involving 17 participants. The data collection was conducted using a questionnaire, and the analysis of the results considered the answers obtained by this instrument and the reflections made during the training. The application of creative learning in an integrated way to the maker culture allowed participants to identify that this pedagogical approach can be a way to discuss different topics in the classroom, in addition to encouraging the development of various skills.
