Abstract: The present work consists of a case study about a didactic sequence on the teaching of Newton's Laws, implemented in basic education involving Active Methodologies, developed through the Pedagogical Residency Program, followed by a reflection on the practice, analyzing from two main aspects: the Logbook and the view of the head teacher. The activities were developed in a class of the first year of high school of a public school in Rio Grande do Sul, on the content Newton's Laws, using Active Methodologies: (i) Instruction by Colleagues, (ii) Tailored Teaching and (iii) Solving Open Problems, based on the theoretical framework of Meaningful Learning. Based on this, the objective was to evaluate how Active Methodologies can contribute, through a didactic sequence, to the teaching of Newton's Laws. The reflection on the practice was based on three categories of analysis: i) feasibility regarding the structure of the didactic sequence, ii) use of activities and iii) possible challenges to be encountered in future applications. Based on the results, it was concluded that the structure proved to be representative in relation to the intended objective and that the activities had a significant reach, since they promoted the engagement of students and the teacher, instigating the rethinking of the practice. Finally, we highlight the encouragement of undergraduates to participate in teaching initiation programs, considering that these experiences are important for their formative trajectories.
