Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to present a mapping of research on Digital Literacy in Brazilian theses and dissertations. The survey followed the protocol established by Kitchenham and Charters (2007) and used the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) as a source of information. This is an exploratory literature review, conducted using a quantitative and qualitative approach. The mapping was carried out without a time frame and identified 243 studies in the five Brazilian regions, with the highest concentration in the southeast. The research focuses primarily on digital literacy in higher education and indicates a lack of research into early childhood education and the education of young people and adults. It was possible to outline the extent of this field of research in the Brazilian context, highlighting the main trends and recurrences found in the theses and dissertations. This includes the incorporation of digital technologies to promote students' digital literacy, initial and continuing teacher training in relation to the subject, the contribution of reading and writing activities in digital environments, the processes of acquiring digital skills and competences, digital and social inclusion, as well as teachers' perceptions and opinions on digital literacy.
