Abstract: This paper addresses the relevance of promoting teaching and extension projects in educational contexts, recognizing students' engagement as a cornerstone for their alignment with the course and the university institution. In view of this, the aim of this work is to share some practices carried out by teaching and extension projects that revolve around the theme of storytelling. These practices contribute to the supplementary development of Pedagogy students and municipal school teachers, supporting their autonomy and encouraging community integration within the educational institution. In order to fulfill this objective, the methodological approach relies on theoretical foundations and the presentation of actions related to academic practices within the two projects. Thus, by employing qualitative and analytical investigation, this study examines the activities proposed by the teaching and extension projects, the level of involvement of scholarship holders, and the engagement of the participants. The pedagogical experience documented in this study yields preliminary results regarding the autonomy and alignment of scholarship holders with the projects' objectives. Additionally, it emphasizes the supplementary training in storytelling, considering literature is promoted for Basic Education through educators' dedication and preparation. Consequently, it becomes evident that pedagogical training, when supplemented by teaching and extension projects, enhances students' connection with the educational institution, leading to academic commitment and success. Moreover, it complements knowledge, promoting both professional and personal growth.
