Proposal for a Business Intelligence Tool to Follow Upgrades from Ifsuldeminas Scientific Initiation Programs

Abstract: This study presents the result of the Master's research in Business Administration whose main focus was to propose a Business Intelligence (BI) tool for monitoring graduates of the IFSULDEMINAS scientific initiation with managerial information to help managers in decision-making within the scope of initiation science, research and postgraduate studies. Methodologically, this is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach and action research was used as a technical research procedure. For data collection, data triangulation was carried out through semi-structured and non-structured meetings (requirements survey), bibliographical research, documentary research (documents and files) and participant observation of the researcher (research environment); data analysis was qualitative and descriptive. The developed tool is compatible with the requirements identified in the data collection and the results presented through the dashboard reports allow the interaction and analysis of managers and external people in each of the dimensions according to the available segmentations. Dashboards allow you to view the entry form, the time to complete graduation, the courses that most absorb students in scientific initiation, the impact of PIBIC on Stricto sensu courses, the professional trajectory of graduates, including formal employment, MEI and informal employment; it also presents relevant scientific production of graduates, technological production, impact on regional development and the role of female graduates. The research filled the gap in the literature on BI tools in Graduate Management.
