Abstract

Abstract: The current rise in immigrant and refugees registration in the Brazilian basic scholar system has been an enormous challenge for the schools, urging the search for teaching strategies and didactic resources focused on this specific public. On that account, this paper approaches the creation of didactic material for children and teengares that have been through forced migration and are now registered in Basic Education. This study presents a proposal based on the concept of Teaching Portuguese as a Welcoming Language (SÃO BERNARDO, 2016)Nand on the communicative competences developed by Canale and Swain (1980). Built on research-action, the investigation seeks to supply the existing gaps between scientific research and the teaching practice with a textbook related to teaching Portuguese to immigrants and refugees which subsidizes the teaching task, mostly in Ensino Fundamental. Thus it will be possible to contribute to these students' interactions with the school community and their integration into Brazilian society.
