Abstract

Abstract: This study reports an experience that aimed to recognize the relations established by High School students between Chemistry and socio-environmental themes through their impressions about videos. Four videos focused on water, the subject of the proposed teaching sequence based on Delizoicov's pedagogical moments, were selected. The videos were shown to High School students of a public school. The data were analyzed through Bardin's content analysis. The productions fomented discussions beyond the chemical knowledge, and the students' impressions point to naturalist notions of the environment. Additionally, it was possible to identify aspects of Chemistry, including both previous and current knowledge. Thus, we hope to contribute to elaborate practices that encourage the discussion of socio-environmental issues in Chemistry teaching through a common theme in schoolbooks: water.
