The Technological Profile of the Teaching Body in a Federal Institute of Education

Abstract: Knowing the teacher, his history and his ability with technological devices is the first step in trying to introduce Information and Communication Digital Technologies (ICDTs) in the classroom. This manuscript seeks to bring data from Farroupilha Federal Institute regarding the use of technologies by its teachers and what they think about its gradual insertion in the classroom as a way to enhance its experience as a teacher and the students' experience in the midst of it all. A questionnaire was used by Google Form in which 217 teachers (from 810) of the institution responded to the survey. The data showed that the use of ICDTs has been frequent for them in the classroom, considering the technological context in which they experience and what the institute provides, with physical resources and the Internet, with requests for further training on the subject. Furthermore, the academic system that the institution makes available to teachers and students provides a collaboration for the achievement of learning with ICDTs in class.
