Abstract

Abstract: How are the actions of the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology guided? Should it be focused on the job market, the formation of simple workers and maintainers of the current society model (social, economic inequalities, violence, etc.), or on the autonomous and critical citizens who seek the transformation of society, as well as their personal and professional growth, but always with a view to improvement for all? Through the documentary analysis of the laws, decrees and documents that govern the Federal Institutes, this research aims to verify if the public servants of the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina - São Bento do Sul campus - are aware of all the legislation that guides their academic and administrative actions. It was sought, through a field research, conducted by online questionnaire in Google Forms, in order to verify how public servants are aware about Professional and Technological Education principles and concepts, to then propose, through  a flowchart, a method of spreading this knowledge among them.
