Abstract

Abstract: The inclusion of people with disabilities in higher education has highlighted the need of accessibility of interactive computational systems used in this context. The new version of the Portal of Rio Grande do Norte Federal University (UFRN) followed this movement, considering its use through  screen readers VLibras. However, its accessibility was not evaluated yet. This work aims to identify accessibility problems in this Portal and from that to support future improvements on user experience of people with disabilities. In June 2019, an evaluation by inspection was conducted with the automatic evaluators of accessibility AInspector, HTML Code Sniffer e Siteimprove Accessibility Checker. It analyzed the total amount, error and warning classification, principles and criteria violation and occurrence location of found problems. We have identified improvement opportunities in Portal on aspects of perception, operation, understanding and robustness of accessibility in the four analyzed pages: home, academic, all the news and a detailed news page.
