#Tear History
#Tear: Journal of Education, Science and Technology emerged in 2011 as a proposal by the research project "Network Reading: Textual Genres, Media and Reading Encouragement" (PROBITI / FAPERGS), held at the Canoas Campus of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS), under the coordination of Professor Cimara Valim de Melo. The Editorial Board currently includes professors from IFRS and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. Since 2019, the Executive Committee is comprised of IFRS servers and students of the Postgraduate Programme in Science Education at UFRGS. The journal is also linked to the Master Programme in Informatics for Education (MPIE) at IFRS Porto Alegre Campus.
Over the years, the journal has become a recognized channel for national and international scientific disclosure. In its second year of operation, in 2013, it was graded as Qualis Capes B4, passing in the following years to Qualis B1. Aimed at the publication of works in the field of education, #Tear has counted to the participation of dozens of reviewers from basic, vocational and higher education in Brazil, as well as the universities of Mexico, Portugal and the United Kingdom.
The number of manuscripts submitted to the journal increases progressively in each call for papers, which highlights the academic representativeness of the journal. In the light of this growth, #Tear Editorial Team has as permanent concern and goal the qualification of its processes, aiming at a transparent and effective process of review, editing and publication of the current scientific production.
