Abstract

Abstract: Learning mediated by digital educational games has presented significant contributions to education. Research shows that the visual design of interfaces plays a fundamental role in this context, being one of the main problems reported in research in the area. Therefore, this article presents a systematic literature review that sought to identify the use and contributions of the visual design of the games interfaces for the learning of children aged 5 to 12 years. The results show the benefits for learning, in addition to highlighting that there is a lack of research that explores the use of design elements, mainly in Brazil. This lack of studies clearly indicates the need to establish and apply guidelines and good practices to guide the effective use of visual design of games, aiming to further improve the educational potential of these tools.
