Abstract

This paper provides a detailed description of a workshop that addressed the development of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) projects. The aim was to develop the participants’ ability to design a STEAM activity or project within the creative learning approach, using the Design Thinking methodology. The methodological approach selected was DSR (Design Science Research), organized through two case studies, in which 16 elementary school teachers from the public school system participated. The results obtained demonstrated that the use of the Design Thinking methodology in the development of STEAM projects for classroom application was effective, and achieved the objective proposed by the workshop, which was to work on creative learning. Finally, it is believed that the workshop can be adapted to other audiences, levels of education and areas of knowledge.
