Abstract

This text consists of an excerpt from a master's research project that aims to investigate the contribution of the Student Monitor Program to monitor students’ Integral Formation at the “Instituto Federal do Rio de Janeiro – Campus Rio de Janeiro”. We questioned how those students understand the role of the Student Monitor Program in their education within the scope of this research, which adopted descriptive methodology, qualitative approach, and used semi-structured questionnaires for data collection. The study included students over 18 years old who engaged in monitoring activities between 2018 and 2022 and were enrolled in the Integrated High School. By analyzing the results, we found the program contributes to the improvement of critical awareness regarding the students’ role in society. We could also observe monitor students develop technical-scientific knowledge, social interaction, and mainly autonomy. Thus, the Student Monitor Program contributes to Integral Formation in Technological Professional Education
